‘Dining Out in Durham’ Exhibit Opening Reception – Friday, 6-8pm – The Museum of Durham History hosts an opening reception for its new exhibit, which explores the stories and cuisine behind Durham’s restaurant industry. The reception features guest speakers and live music as well as catered appetizers and tapas from some local favorites.
Derby Party – Saturday, 4-9pm – Kick off the Kentucky Derby at Mystic Farm & Distillery with stick horse racing, corn hole, a ring toss, a local food truck and a costume contest with prizes. Each ticket purchase includes a cocktail.
Slingshot Festival – Sunday – The music and electronic art festival has moved its home base from Athens, Georgia, to Durham for its fifth edition. Sunday’s opening show at The Fruit includes performances by Andy Stott and Debit, and the festival continues next weekend May 13-15.
