Slingshot Festival – Thursday-Friday – The music and electronic art festival has moved its home base from Athens, Georgia, to Durham for its fifth edition. The lineup includes techno and soundcraft legend Carl Craig, British composer/producer Andy Stott, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Eartheater and dozens of others performing live at The Fruit and its pop-up space next door called Sometimes.
Durham Bulls Home Games – Thursday-Saturday, 6:35pm; Sunday, 5:05pm – The Tampa Bay Rays triple-A team return home for their third home stand of the 2022 season. Enjoy discounted food and beverage on Thursday; post-game fireworks on Friday; food trucks, live music and specialty brews on Saturday; and celebrate Wool E. Bull’s birthday on Sunday.
A Taste of Greece – Saturday-Sunday, 11am-7pm – St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church hosts a smaller version of its annual Durham Greek Festival this year. Gyro pita wraps, baklava and other Greek dishes will be available for takeout to enjoy under dining tents. Admission and parking are FREE, and the two-day event is rain or shine. A portion of proceeds benefit relief efforts for Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees.
Bike the Nature Preserves Spring Ride – Saturday, 2-4pm – Join Bike Durham and the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association for a family-friendly educational tour through three nature preserves. The casual, in-person group ride consists of about 8.5 miles, mostly on bike trails.

Spend a family-friendly afternoon at The Forest Theatre with Grammy-nominated musician and author Pierce Freelon as he gives a lively reading from his children’s book, “Daddy-Daughter Day.” Don’t miss the musical performance by Pierce and special guest Rissi Palmer, all in support of Orange Literacy’s efforts to make literacy available to all.
Freight Train Blues Music Series

The Carrboro Recreation, Parks & Cultural Resources Department and Music Maker Foundation host this eighth annual series that honors the legacy of the late Carrboro musician Elizabeth Cotten. The five free Friday evening concerts at the Carrboro Town Commons feature performances from artists such as Gail Ceasar, Tad Walters and Lil’ Jimmy Reed. Beer and food will be available for purchase.
