St. Paddy’s Day – Friday – Brightleaf neighbors The Federal and James Joyce Irish Pub host a joint St. Patrick’s Day celebration featuring Irish fare and live music. North Carolina bluegrass band Big Fat Gap will play outdoors at 4pm and 8pm, and Al McCanless & Bob Vasile will offer traditional Irish music inside from 6-8pm.
St. Patrick’s Day Party – Friday, noon-11pm – Shake your shamrocks at Bull City Ciderworks during this all-day event. Rock cover band Downpour will keep the party going while you enjoy Irish eats from Let’s Eat food truck, green cider, cocktail specials and more.
Changes: How Life Survives – Sunday, 10am-5pm – Join The Museum of Life and Science’s animal care team and butterfly house staff for a day of learning about and exploring both evolutionary and adaptive changes in nature. Check out the museum’s activity stations, too, for some hands-on experience and examination of animal artifacts!
Food Truck Rodeo – Sunday, noon – It’s Sunday funday at Durham Central Park! Come out for international eats from more than 37 food trucks, craft beverages from eight vendors, live music by DJ Travis Gales, Bull City Inflatables bounce houses, a Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary puppy meet and greet and so much more. Don’t forget a lawn chair or picnic blanket!
Equinox – Join the Hillsborough Arts Council and celebrate the spring equinox with a house party and fundraiser at local textile artist and council board member Ali Givens’ home. The ticketed event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will feature live music by Blake Christiana, food and drinks, a silent auction and art activities.
Vegan Mac & Cheese Cook Off
Cast your vote for the best vegan mac and cheese at the seventh annual cook-off at the Carrboro Century Center. The event will feature sweet and savory food vendors and will benefit Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge and Triangle Vegfest.
