Bull City Comedy Fest – Friday, 8pm and Sunday, 6pm and 8pm – The comedy festival features 27 comedians performing at venues in Durham, Gibsonville and Greensboro. Local performances take place at The Glass Jug Beer Lab’s RTP brewery on Friday and Devine’s on Sunday.
Angels Among Us 5K and Walk of Hope – Saturday, 7am-12:15pm – The 30th annual event starts and ends on Flowers Drive with a route passing by Duke Chapel and the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. In addition to the run/walk, there’s a silent auction, a kid zone, food trucks and performances. All proceeds benefit The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University to support brain tumor research and treatment.
Dings + Dents Sale – Saturday, 11am – Bright Black holds its first annual sale both online and in person at its Lakewood storefront in celebration of Earth Day. Candles and other products with imperfections, discontinued packaging or other flaws that are still in usable condition will be for sale at a discount. The sale continues until inventory is sold out!
Piedmont Farm Tour – Saturday and Sunday, 2-6pm – As part of the nation’s largest sustainable farm tour, Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, in partnership with Weaver Street Market, hosts the 26th annual self-guided tour of more than 31 farms throughout North Carolina’s Piedmont region, including Durham Public Schools’ The Hub Farm, Elodie Farms, Hawk’s Nest Healing Gardens, Bull City Farm and Catawba Trail Farm.
The Dolly Party – Saturday, 9:30pm – Motorco Music Hall hosts a Dolly Parton-themed country western dance party that includes hits from Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, Kacey Musgraves and more.
Earth Day Festival – Sunday, noon-5pm – Durham Parks & Recreation hosts this annual celebration at Durham Central Park with a multitude of Earth Day–based activities, educational resources, live music, vendors, culinary offerings and more. Bike Durham and GoDurham offer a sustainable transportation expo plus valet bicycle parking and complimentary bike tuneups while Durham County Library’s Bookmobile provides free document shredding and take-home books at no cost.
