Bike the Nature Preserves – Saturday, 12:30-3pm – Join Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association and Bike Durham for a family-friendly, educational 8.5-mile bike ride with a member of ECWA that stops three of Durham’s nature preserves to learn more about each location’s history and wildlife
Third Saturday Local Maker + Vintage Market – Saturday, 3-7pm – Enjoy barbecue from The Outlaw Pig food truck plus craft beer and nonalcoholic beverage options from Durty Bull Brewing Company while shopping from local artists and vintage sellers at the brewery. Country rock artist J.C. Tokes performs from 4-6 p.m. followed by Organ Failure from 7-9 p.m.
Pottery 101 – Saturday, 4-6:30pm – Little Peak Pottery offers this beginner pottery class at Gizmo Brew Works at University Hill. Learn to make your own catch-all trinket dishes, apply underglaze decal images and garner other tips for personalizing each dish. Participants will pick up fired pottery pieces from Gizmo.
Spring Swing: Wine and Jazz Night – Saturday, 5-8pm – Indie-jazz band Tea Cup Gin brings original and vintage-inspired blues tunes to The Glass Jug Beer Lab’s beer garden in RTP. Enjoy a sip of The Glass Jug’s sangria and frosé slushies.
Durham Blues & Brews Festival – Saturday, 5-10pm – The seventh annual blues music and craft brews festival returns to Durham Central Park. Enjoy unlimited 12-ounce pours from more than a dozen North Carolina breweries, cideries and wineries, and fare from a variety of food trucks, then pull out your lawn chair to watch The Mighty Messengers of Soul, Annika Chambers & Paul DesLauriers, and Vanessa Collier perform. Festival proceeds benefit The Exchange Club of Greater Durham, a service-oriented civic club working to improve the community and prevent child abuse.
