A Guide to Local Events: Fall in Love With Raleigh This Autumn

As summer draws to a close, the beauty of fall is fast approaching. Cooler nights, changing leaves, and pumpkin spice everything will soon be a part of every day life. How are you going to celebrate the new season?

We have more than a few ideas! If you live in Raleigh, or the greater Triangle area, prepare to be blown away by the wide variety of fun things to do here. From world-class music festivals to holiday celebrations and more, there’s no better time to be in the Triangle than fall.

Without further ado, here are some upcoming Raleigh events we’re super excited for!

Hopscotch Music Festival

Large crowd at a music concert.Three full days of music, almost 150 bands from across the country, and an exciting atmosphere that’s one-of-a-kind, you can’t miss Hopscotch! This music festival is unbeatable, with a smorgasbord of artists representing every genre you could think of.

This year’s headliners include Miguel, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and the Flaming Lips. Hopscotch 2018 is scheduled for September 6th through 8th in Downtown Raleigh.

SparkCon

SparkCon is a Downtown Raleigh celebration of everything weird! Enjoy art, culture, music, and everything else you could possibly imagine having to do with creativity and the arts.

Featuring over 200 artists in a variety of different events spread across four days and almost 15 blocks in Downtown Raleigh, SparkCon features music, dance, interactive exhibits, fashion, and more. SparkCon takes place from September 13th through 16th.

North Carolina State Fair

Come out for the deliciously fried fair food, agriculture exhibits, games, rides, and one-of-a-kind North Carolina community.

This year, the fair will take place from Thursday October 11th through Sunday October 21st.

Raleigh Christmas Parade

A beloved Raleigh tradition, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by attending the annual Raleigh Christmas Parade. Presented by Shop Local Raleigh, this year’s parade will take place on Saturday, November 17th.

Chinese Lantern Festival

Array of multi-colored Chinese lanterns at night.While it’s technically located in Cary, the Chinese Lantern Festival is an attraction beloved by residents across the greater Triangle area! This year, it’s taking place from November 23rd to January 13th.

Enjoy a stunning array of Chinese lanterns, spread across a 1/2 mile area at Koka Boothe Amphitheatre in Cary.

It’s truly a one-of-a-kind Triangle experience, set among a gorgeous show of brightly colored lanterns and lights.
