Black Excellence in Science – Sunday, 10am-3pm – Meet talented scientists from across the Triangle during this event at the Museum of Life and Science. Activities include story time with North Carolina Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green, 20-minute Q-and-A sessions with scientists from local universities and businesses, and take-home science projects. Sunday is also a Durham Community Day at the museum, and Durham County residents get in free with current proof of residence. All adults must have Durham residency to get in free, and each adult can bring up to five children.
Comedy Under The Big Top! – Sunday, 4-5:30pm – Join Durty Bull Brewing for a daytime show featuring five comedians under a heated tent.
‘What’s Your Flavor?’
Take a visit to the Orange County Historical Museum to check out its opening exhibit that takes a creative look at heritage cooking. “What’s Your Flavor?” features works and art by North Carolina artists from diverse backgrounds and also includes interactive stations and historic recipes to take home. The museum is open Friday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Wild Mind Improv
Looking for something to entertain the whole family? Quick, short-form scenes and games make up the meat of this show at The ArtsCenter. There will be an (optional) dance break midway through to help the kids shake out the sillies and help the adults get their steps in. Show starts at 6 p.m.
Ripe
This Boston-based band brings their unstoppable dance music to Cat’s Cradle. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
