Biotech Blast – Saturday, 10am-4pm – Investigate biotechnology’s everyday impact at the Museum of Life and Science with representatives from The Red Wolf Coalition, Duke BiotechnologyEOS Remediation, and the NC State Department of Genetics, Engineering and Society. Don’t forget to bring a small, clean jar to the museum’s lab to take home SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) and learn how a kombucha starter relates to biotech, too.

Mystic Chili Cook-Off – Saturday, noon-4pm – Bring two gallons of your best chili to Mystic Farm and Distillery and enter to win in one of three categories – regular, spicy or meatless. Rather leave the cooking to the chili pros? Register to attend and enjoy chili tastings!

APS Out & About at Moondog Meadery – Saturday, 3-6pm – The Animal Protection Society of Durham hosts a doggy meet-and-greet at this new meadery and bottle shop in the space beneath Joe Van Gogh on Broad Street. There will also be a trivia wheel with opportunities to win prizes.
