Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular – Friday, 8pm – Watch a laser and light show featuring Pink Floyd’s smash hits at The Carolina Theatre

Party for the Planet – Saturday, 10am-3pm – The Museum of Life and Science commemorates Earth Day with an educational program about nature preservation. The event includes eco-friendly activities and workshops to lead a sustainable lifestyle. 

Pops in the Park – Sunday, 3pm – Durham Symphony Orchestra presents this free outdoor concert featuring music from Star Wars, West Side Story and Duke Ellington at Piney Wood Park picnic shelter. RJ’s Fish, Wings & Things food truck will be on-site as well as a kids zone with outdoor games like a ring toss, block tower, hula hoops and bubbles. Head over early for the “instrument petting zoo” at 2pm.

Weekend of Art in Hillsborough  
Hillsborough Arts Council combines Hillsborough Last Friday Art Walk, the Handmade Market (previously Art in the Heart) and its beloved Handmade Parade (which returns after a four-year hiatus) for an immersive exciting “Weekend of Art.” April’s Last Friday Art Walk takes place from 6-9 p.m. and the Handmade Market, which features original work from 50-plus local artists, takes place Saturday from noon-7 p.m. The Mardi Gras-style street parade starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Burwell School Historic Site and ends at River Park, where there will be artists, food and beverage, vendors and live music on the lawn.

Fields of Funk: A Sour and Funky Beer Festival 
Steel String Brewery offers some of the best sour beers in the South during this festival at Pluck Farm from 2-8 p.m. Five bars will feature beers from 25-plus breweries. There will also be live DJ sets, lawn games, a Hunky Dory pop-up record shop, a giant paint-by-numbers mural and disc golf.

W.G. Pearson Center Craft Fair – Saturday, 11am-3pm – Student U hosts over 30 small businesses, plus entertainment and activities, such as henna, face painting, food trucks and more. Admission is free.
