AADE’S 37TH KWANZAA FEST

Join the African American Dance Ensemble on January 1, 2023, for its 37th annual Kwanzaa celebration. Observing the principle Imani, which means Faith. To believe with all our hearts in our people and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
The doors will open to the public at noon and the performances will begin at 2:00 pm at the historic Durham Armory. Kwanzaa appeals to a diverse audience, as AADE seeks to preserve and promote the fine traditions of African and African American dance and music to the broad community.
No Fuss, No Frills NYE Party

Ring in the new year at our FUN-filled, fuss-and-frills-free, annual NYE Party! No cover charges or fancy dress codes here. Pop some $25 champagne bottles, catch DJ MikeWawa spinning live in the main bar from 9pm-1am, and countdown to the new year with us on Saturday, December 31st!
New Year’s Eve Dinner at Alley Twenty Six

Reservations are now available for Alley Twenty Six’s New Year’s Eve prix fixe five-course tasting menu with cocktail pairings.
Reservations are available between 4-10:45 p.m. The meal costs $120 per person. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
Downtown Durham Holiday Treasure Hunt
Sat, Dec 31, 2 – 3 PM
Guests will meet at CCB Plaza (201 Corcoran St., Durham, NC 27701) and then depart with their treasure map on a walking team scavenger hunt where they will use their minds and feet to follow Holiday-themed clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes to find and unlock the treasure chest for a grand prize!
The hunt involves walking a distance of 1.5-2.5 miles in total and will take place rain or shine, so long as the weather does not become dangerous. The hunt typically takes about 60 minutes to complete.
Children under 10 years old are welcome to participate for free with the purchase of an Adult ticket.
2023 First Day Hike at Falls Lake

Come celebrate the new year with us by taking a hike on the Rolling View Kids in Parks Track Trail!
This ranger-led hike will focus on our 2023 theme, Year of the Trail, while hiking the 0.75-mile loop. Bring a good pair of shoes and some water, and get ready for a good time!
Sunday Salsa Social

Salsa and Bachata with sides of Merengue, Cha, and Kiz. Now in our 14th year. The Social starts with basic Salsa lesson at 6:30 and dance is from 7:15 to 9:30.
