Your Weekend Guide To Bull City and Beyond: June 3rd – 5th

Boxyard RTP’s Birthday Celebration – Thursday-Saturday, 8am-9pm – Boxyard RTP celebrates its one-year anniversary with a packed weekend of events, entertainment and specials. On Thursday, the first 100 people on-site will receive “Boxyard Bucks” to spend at the vendor of their choosing. There will also be live music at noon and a Trellis Beauty pop-up event at 4pm that day. Saturday features a free fitness class with POUND and a dance party for the kiddos. Each of the three days features discounts at every vendor.

Islands in the Alley – Thursday-Sunday, 4pm – This retro-themed, two-month-long pop-up returns to Alley Twenty Six this week and features tropical food and drink, including the fan-favorite Big Kahuna burger and Cobra’s Fang cocktail.

Running of the Bulls 8K – Saturday, 7am – Bull City Running Co. hosts its 14th annual community road race through the historic and revitalized downtown neighborhoods of Trinity Park and Old North Durham, and the American Tobacco Campus. Runners finish with a lap around the warning track inside the Historic Durham Athletic Park. Race features include cash prizes and Brooks running shoes for top finishers, a kids’ fun run, custom cowbell medals, and a DJ and refreshments at the end.

Food Truck Rodeo – Sunday, noon-4pm – Bring out the blanket and lawn chairs for a fun and food-filled afternoon at Durham Central Park. Hosted four times a year, this rodeo benefits the park and includes local favorites like Bull City CiderworksMesas Food TruckPie Pushers and El Jefecito, among others.

Walk with Pride
Continue Pride Month celebrations at this kick-off event for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Small Town Pride. March alongside performers and other revelers starting at 2 p.m. from the Peace and Justice Plaza to 140 West Franklin Plaza. The inaugural Pride! Promenade features music from DJ Savon, interactive art from Kelly Schrader, and performances by Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus and Imagine Circus.

Beats & Eats Music Festival
Enjoy dancing, the music of Bantum Rooster and food from Paco’s Tacos on the Southern Village Green from 6-9 p.m. during this fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill.
