Third Friday Durham Art Walk & Gallery Crawl – Friday, 6-9pm – Support local artists and listen to live street performers including Debbie the Artist, Darrien Rutherford and Frank Keefe & David Lewis during this monthly event downtown. This month’s featured artist, Danielle James, is a neon bender, designer and metalsmith whose work is on display at Hex Neon inside The Fruit.
Show Me Reptile & Exotics Show – Saturday and Sunday, 10am-3:30pm – Show Me Snakes presents its reptile expo at Durham Armory. Take part in the educational stations and face painting, and learn about the safe and responsible keeping of these pets.
Spring Solstice Seafood Soiree – Saturday, 7-9pm – Enjoy seafood selections from Locals Seafood and Marco’s 530 paired with three glasses of wine at Durham Food Hall’s private mezzanine space as part of its Perfect Pairing Series. There will also be a live musical performance by SunQueen Kelcey and Malcom of the Soular Flares.
Food Truck Rodeo – Sunday, noon-4pm – Durham Central Park hosts its first of four food truck rodeos this year. Funds raised will benefit the park’s operations, maintenance and programs. This weekend’s event features 35 food trucks, live music by DJ Piddipat and bouncy castles from Bull City Inflatables.
Cosmic Colors
Uncover the reasons for the colors of the universe, and go on an adventure of cosmic light at this show presented by the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Learn why the sky is blue, and discover the actual color of a dinosaur (based on recent evidence). This show takes place from noon to 1 p.m.
The Bazaar
Shop locally made goods, listen to live music, indulge in craft beer and food trucks, and more at the craft and art market at Carrboro Town Commons from noon to 5 p.m. Dining options include Succotash Durham, Chirba Chirba Dumpling, Yee Haw Doughnuts, Craftboro Brewing Depot and Carrboro Coffee Roasters.
