Your Weekend Guide to Bull City & Beyond: April 26th – 28th, 2024

Angels Among Us 5K & Walk of Hope – Saturday, 8am – Celebrate life, strength, courage and commitment by taking part in this race or walk (the latter begins at 11 a.m.) to benefit brain tumor research and education at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University. The race kicks off where Flowers Drive meets Yearby Avenue

Bull City Madness – Saturday, 9am-3pm – Raise awareness and support for organizations in Durham and celebrate Durham’s rich basketball history at this DurhamCares-sponsored three vs. three basketball tournament in which teams from across North Carolina compete for a chance to win a $1,000 prize at Long Meadow Park.

Socks & Undie 5k Rundie – Saturday, 9:30-11:30am – Run, walk or jog this 5K to help raise funds for the nonprofit Note in the Pocket, which works to provide quality clothing to impoverished and homeless children and families. Take off from the starting line at NewHope Church along Fayetteville Road to help the organization meet its goal to clothe 12,500 children and families in the Triangle this year. 

Duke Lemur Center Museum Open House – Saturday, 1-4pm – Visit the Duke Lemur Center Museum for a look at its new exhibit that traces primates from their lemur-like beginnings to their modern diversity. The open house will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s fossils and bones, and how staff transform them into research specimens in their fossil preparation lab.

Trinity Park 2024 Garden & Landscape Tour – Sunday, 1-5pm – Explore 12 featured gardens that focus on perennials, vegetables gardens, ponds, outdoor living spaces and more in Trinity Park. Proceeds benefit the Trinity Park Foundation, a nonprofit that maintains and improves the neighborhood. 

Artisan Craft Market – Sunday, 1-6pm – Stop by Crafts & Drafts’ outdoor green space for an inaugural sip-n-shop that celebrates creativity and local craftsmanship! Sip on beer and wine as you browse from the 20 local vendors in attendance.
