Melanated Wine Poetry Night – Friday, 7-9pm – Experience an evening of eloquent expression at Melanated Wine’s Tasting Room. Watch a variety of poetry performances and engage in community building and networking! 

West Point on the Eno Season Opening – Saturday, 10am-2pm – Spend an afternoon out of the house and celebrate West Point on the Eno‘s season opening! Enjoy hot cocoa, cider and croquet in the mill and stop by the Hugh Mangum Museum of Photography for a sweet treat and a little history during your visit.

Biotech Blast –Saturday, 10am-3pm – Learn how biotechnology impacts our everyday lives in this fun exhibit at the Museum of Life & Science! Investigate biotech’s role in gene therapy and high-tech filtration, but also in cooking, painting and getting from place to place. Meet with scientists and try DNA origami, microscopy with Ramona Optics and more hands-on activities! 

Grand Opening Celebration – Saturday, 1pm – Join Durham Parks and Recreation to celebrate Durham’s first dedicated public pickleball facility at Piney Wood Park Pickleball Courts! The event features an official ribbon cutting, open play, family activities and food for purchase.

Pottery Preview with The Tatted Potter – Saturday, noon-3pm – Join Megan Shawkey from The Tatted Potter at Boxyard RTP as she demonstrates various steps in the ceramic-making process, from the creation of items on the wheel to decorating and glazing pieces. 

Photographing Your Artwork: A Durham Art Guild Workshop – Saturday, 2-6pm – Learn how to capture stunning photographs of your artwork in this workshop hosted by the Durham Art Guild. Led by professional photographer Freeman Long, this event is open to artists of all levels and will help attendees in taking photos for applications, portfolios, websites, social media and more. Bring a piece of artwork and a camera (your phone counts!), and get ready to take some photos!
