Dance in the Park! – Friday, 5-9pm – Dance the night away at Durham Central Park while enjoying a Louisiana-themed evening filled with beer from The Glass Jug Beer Lab, local food truck fare, live music from a New Orleans jazz band, among other performances, and Cajun two-step dance lessons.
Pork, Pickles & Peanuts – Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Celebrate our state’s history and culinary traditions at Duke Homestead State Historic Site and Tobacco Museum. Watch historical cooking demonstrations from vendors in costume, sample traditional dishes like barbecue and pie, enjoy live music and cast your vote for the People’s Choice award for best barbecue.
DPR Rock the Park Movie & Concert Series – Saturday, 8:30-10:30pm – Head to Durham Central Park with a blanket or lawn chairs for a family-friendly showing of “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” . Enjoy food from vendors on-site as you watch the movie during this summer entertainment series hosted by Durham Parks and Recreation.
The Makrs Society Summer Fest– Sunday, 11am.-3pm – Durham Central Park plays host to this monthly pop-up market where guests can enjoy barbecue fare from food trucks and shop with more than 45 local artists and makers. There will be a full band, free face painting and fairy hair, a lemonade vendor and games.
Sweet Social: Rose’s Sweets – Sunday, 4-6pm – Satisfy your sweet tooth by visiting The Roof at The Durham for a pop-up featuring Rose’s Noodles, Dumplings & Sweets’ ice-cream sandwiches – like the White Miso Gingersnap on Gingersnaps – among other sweets. Grab a drink from the rooftop bar and enjoy the panoramic views of downtown.
Robo Rave
Kidzu Museum hosts Eastbots, East Chapel Hill High School’s robotics team, which will display its robotic creations and show kids how to operate and interact with them. The students will showcase their robots’ different abilities at stations throughout the museum.
