RetroNoir Film Series – Friday, 4:50-9:20pm; Saturday, 12:30-9:30pm; Sunday, 2-7:10pm – The Carolina Theatre hosts showings of several movies that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations from the film noir period of the early 1940s to the early 1960s.
Bright Black Scent Design and Candle-Making Workshop – Friday, 5-7pm – Bright Black co-founders Tiffany Griffin and Dariel Heron lead a scent design and candle-making workshop inspired by the summer solstice and themes of warmth, growth, fire, fertility, sunbathing, flowers, herbs and abundance.
Family Farm Animal Day – Saturday, 10am-2pm – Duke Homestead hosts a family-friendly educational day that teaches about farm animals, wildlife, rescue organizations and more. Come out to meet creatures typically found on a 19th century homestead. Visitors will get the chance to enjoy crafts and games as well as learn about the importance of animals, birds, pollinators and more on North Carolina farms, both historically and today.
The Streetery – Saturday, 5-9pm – Come downtown this summer on the fourth Saturday of June, July and August and enjoy music, dancing and fun in the street! This month, check out a performance by Takiri Folclor, then learn some new moves as Latin dance instructor Lulu Diaz teaches salsa, merengue and more.
Triangle Vegfest – Sunday, 11am-5pm – The annual festival returns to Durham Central Park for an afternoon of vegan food, shopping, a family fun zone, live music and more.
Bourbon and Chocolate Pairing Class – Sunday, 2-4pm – Join Mystic Farm and Distillery for a lesson in pairings of chocolate and its handcrafted bourbon
