Your Weekend Guide to Bull City & Beyond: June 2nd -4th

The Herbalist Corner – Saturday, 6am to Sunday, 4pm –  The Holistic Healing House presents a two-day herbalism workshop complete with sound therapy, sunrise yoga, plant-based food and holistic speakers for guests looking to learn about plant medicine and various healing techniques.

Running of the Bulls 8K – Saturday, 7:15am – Lace up your running shoes for Durham’s 15th annual community road race presented by Bull City Running Co. This scenic course winds through the historic and revitalized neighborhoods of downtown Durham, American Tobacco CampusTrinity Park and Old North Durham neighborhoods. The race finishes with a lap of the warning track inside the historic Durham Athletic Park. The Kids Run will begin at 8:30am for children ages 0 to 6 and 8:45am for ages 7 to 12.

Murals by Bike: Downtown Tour – Saturday, 10-11:30am – Preservation Durham, the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University and the Museum of Durham History partner together to offer a 90-minute tour of downtown’s murals. The tour meets in front of Major the Bull at CCB Plaza, and participants must bring their own bikes. 

Boxyard Turns 2 – Saturday, 11am-3pm – Celebrate Boxyard RTP’s second anniversary by visiting its vendors – be sure to take advantage of sales and specials while enjoying live music from local artists. Bring the whole family to take part in a moonwalk, spin art, water tag and more games. 

53rd Annual Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival – Saturday, 1-7pm – Celebrating African and African American history, culture, arts and traditions, Durham Parks and Recreation hosts an afternoon of live music, arts and crafts, food and fun family activities at Rock Quarry Park. The festival, which is free and open to the public, was established in 1969 by a group of local students and community members to honor the West African celebration of harvest that includes dancing, feasting and more. Remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Durham World Hunger Day – Sunday, 3-6pm – This event at Durham Central Park raises awareness of food insecurity and celebrates efforts in Durham to promote food equity. Fun is provided for the whole family with music, entertainment, food trucks and giveaways.
