Your Weekend Guide to Bull City & Beyond: November 3rd – 5th, 2023

N.C. Comicon – Saturday, 10 am-6pm, Sunday 10am-5pm – Spend the weekend dressed as Deadpool or The Hulk and socialize with your fellow superhero neighbors at the Durham Convention Center. Join live panels, hear from legendary comic icons and win prizes at the cosplay contests.

Move-A-Bull City 2023 – Saturday, 2-5:30pm – Embark on a five or 10 mile bike ride, or walk a 1.5 mile path around the Bull City, beginning at the Golden Belt Campus and stopping along the way to take advocacy actions in support of sustainable transportation. All ages and biking experiences are welcome! 

Iron Pour – Saturday, 4-9pm – Liberty Arts hosts the seventh annual Iron Pour at Durham Central Park, where 5,000 pounds of molten iron is poured into molds in an exciting, fiery display. This fundraiser for Liberty Arts, a casting facility offering workshops and artist studios, includes drumming performances from Batalá Durham, fire breathers, kid-friendly activities, an art market, raku firing, food trucks and craft beer. 

Seventh Annual Chestnut Festival – Visit Strouds Creek Farm from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the seventh Chestnut Festival! With a variety of family-friendly activities, including a bounce house, pony rides, a petting zoo and games, there is something for all ages. You also have the opportunity to purchase an array of signature foods and drinks, including homemade cream of chestnut soup, hot pretzels, cider and both roasted and raw chestnuts. 

Taylor Swift Dance Party – Calling all Swifities! Yonder: Southern Cocktails and Brew hosts a dance party with all of Taylor Swift’s most popular songs, so grab your friends and shake it off on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. 

Wine and Cider Guided Tasting & Tour – Bring your friends to Botanist & Barrel to take a tour of the winery and relax with a guided tasting and food pairing curated by Certified Pommelier Amie Fields. The experience will combine the best local cheeses and charcuterie with handmade wines and ciders as you gain insight on the culture of North Carolina agriculture and southern flavors. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
