Holiday Open House – Saturday and Sunday, 11am-5pm – Vintage Home South invites guests to sip, shop and save during this weekend-long event with discounts on all purchases, complimentary cocktails and snacks, a DeCicco Woodshop Artisinal Gifts Pop-Up, snuggles with the shop dogs and a surprise treat at checkout.
A Walk Through Historic Maplewood Cemetery – Saturday, 10am-4pm – Explore Bull City’s history during Preservation Durham’s guided tour of the famous cemetery. Learn about the stories of people buried there, funerary traditions, and grave art and architecture. Loop tours begin at the cemetery’s Kent Street entrance.
Annual Iron Pour – Saturday, 4-9pm – Join Liberty Arts, a nonprofit artists’ collective dedicated to making arts accessible to all, during its annual fall tradition of melting 4,000 pounds of iron at 3,000 degrees and pouring it into molds created by the community at Durham Central Park. Scratch your own design into a 6-inch mold of hardened sand during a scratch-block workshop prior to the pour, and take home your own piece of art. Food and beer trucks and arts vendors will be on-site. The event is free to the public, but donations are welcome.
Taste of the Town – Thursday, 6pm – An evening of exciting entertainment, community, and delicious food and drinks from beloved Bull City restaurants at The Rickhouse to fundraise and bring awareness for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
2022 Fall Festival
Lanza’s Cafe hosts its inaugural festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a special musical performance from Pittsboro-based pop, jazz and funk band Oakboro from 1-3 p.m. Enjoy a variety of outdoor games including yard yahtzee and cornhole, and browse handmade art from more than 10 craft vendors.
Holiday Pop-Up
The MAKRS Society hosts its last holiday-themed monthly market of the year at Carrboro Town Commons from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Listen to tunes from the Triangle-based band The Jive Bombers, and take a lunch break with food and dessert from Ta Contento, Mesas Food Truck and Munchilove.
