Urban Axes Fifth Anniversary Party – Friday, 7-11pm – Celebrate five years of Urban Axes Durham with music, food, drinks, party games and ax throwing! 

Universal Monsters Film Series – Friday through Sunday – Jumpstart the Halloween season by catching a monster movie – including “Frankenstein,” “Dracula” and “The Mummy,” with a variety of other horror, suspense and science fiction films made by Universal Studios from 1923 to 1960 – at the Carolina Theatre as part of its Retro Film Series.

Durham’s Murals by Bike: Downtown Tour – Saturday, 10am – Tour downtown’s murals on bike or scooter with Preservation Durham. The tour, which meet at the corner of Parrish and Corcoran streets at the “Major” the Bull sculpture, includes stops at the “Angel of Spring” mural, “Two Way Bridges” mural and the “Hayti” mural, among others.

Pumpkin Patch Express – Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm – Create fall memories at the Museum of Life and Science! Hop aboard this fall train ride on the Ellerbe Creek Railway to visit its pumpkin patch. Pick out the perfect pumpkin to decorate, and enjoy other activities including a hay maze, duck races, nature bingo and more before climbing on the train for a ride back to the station. 

Durty Bull’s Seventh Anniversary Party – Saturday, noon – Ring in seven years of Durty Bull Brewing Company as the brewery celebrates with tunes from DJ Bonney The Kid, live music from Organ Failure, food from Tacos Paraiso, scratch block art classes from Liberty Arts and more. Durty Bull is also releasing two beers, “$700 Jeans” and “No One Asked For Your Opinion, Matt,” to celebrate!

Harvest Festival – Sunday, 1-4pm – Celebrate the beauty of fall with a variety of activities, music, demonstrations and more led by Sarah P. Duke Gardens and other local groups in the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden. `
